Event DescriptionThe Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission is hosting the Living Lands Workshop: Fostering Sustainable Agriculture for Economic Development. Sustainable agriculture focuses on the goals of profit, stewardship, and quality of life for farmers, ranchers and their communities.
This workshop is to intended to provide communities with information and tools to foster sustainable agriculture. Participants can explore planning tools to preserve local farms and promote local food, and hear case studies from successful producers, community organizations and local governments. The workshop will also provide a forum for the agricultural community to discuss the obstacles to sustainable agriculture in the region, as well as provide suggestions on how communities could support solutions to address these issues.
There are still a few spots available for farmers market participants, who will have the opportunity to promote their farm/CSA during the lunch break and receive half-price registration for the workshop.
