JOB SUMMARY includes, but not limited to:
The Engineering Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the Engineering team. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals, ensuring that project goals are achieved, and within budgets.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
  • Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within engineering group
  • Provide timely communications with senior management on significant or development issues, organizational, resource and personnel issues maintaining a focus on safety and reliability
  • Concurrently work on/supervise multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality and ensuring schedule and program requirements are met
  • Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
  • Coach, develop and mentor others in the realization of assigned parts, assemblies, or processes that meet business standards, practices and procedures, and the product/program requirements
  • Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary discussions
  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching, training, and counseling
  • Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within department
  • Accountable for the team metrics and involved in long term planning
  • Develop and maintain a productive working climate, promoting teamwork and cross-functional efforts to achieve and maintain excellence
  • Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) associated with composites manufacturing
    Design and build / procure necessary tooling, finishing within budgets
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, create process routing for composite parts
  • Create work package estimates and BOM’s from engineering drawings
  • Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation
  • Write material and equipment specifications
  • Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes and / or equipment
  • Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment
  • Drive Process Improvement/Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements
  • Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations
  • Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation
  • Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell
  • Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track / drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues

This position is a full-time, salary-exempt position. The base schedule is Monday through Friday, from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm.
