Charlottesville, Virginia - July 10 – From July 11 to 13, Hospice of the Piedmont (HOP) is participating in the second-annual GIVE65 Event, a 65-hour online giving event to help nonprofit organizations serving seniors raise funds online and increase awareness. The online GIVE65 Event begins at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11 and concludes at 11 p.m. on July 13.

During the GIVE65 Event, HOP will receive a $3,000 matching grant from Home Instead Senior Care Foundation to incentivize giving at the local level. Financial rewards worth $10,000 are also available to organizations that raise the most money or have the most unique donors participate. Donations of $10 or greater are accepted and appreciated.

The virtual event is an initiative of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation® and the nation’s first and only crowd-fundraising platform focused exclusively on helping nonprofit organizations across the country raise funds for programs and services benefiting seniors. Home Instead Senior Care Foundation is also offering a matching grant: the first $3,000 in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

"Support from our community has become important to our mission,” said Ron Cottrell, President and CEO of Hospice of the Piedmont. “Thanks to the contributions we receive from fundraisers like GIVE65, we’re able to provide needed support to our neighbors with life-limiting illnesses and their families.”

Starting on July 1, anyone who wants to support the mission of Hospice of the Piedmont can visit www.give65.org/hopva to pre-schedule a secure, online donation. Through GIVE65, donations will help HOP continue to provide high-quality, dignified care to our region’s most vulnerable neighbors. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible in the United States.
