SUMMARY:5 Over 50 Celebration by Aging Together
DESCRIPTION:Aging Together has been honoring the positive impact of older adults for 13 years with the annual 5 Over 50 Celebration.  The regional honor was created to highlight the significant contributions of older adults in each of our 5 counties. \n\n\n\nThe 5 Over 50 event underscores the fact that age doesn't mean diminished capacity\, and uproots stereotypes incorrectly assigned to older adults. In fact\, through years of experience\, older adults have singular wisdom that positively impacts our region in many ways including:??\n\n	Caregiving for older and younger family members\n	Financial contributions supporting the community at large and causes that matter\n	Job experience that is passed on through mentorship and leadership in the workplace\n	Hours of support to organizations through volunteerism\n\n\n\nOne person (or couple) from each county is honored (Culpeper\, Fauquier\, Madison\, Orange & Rappahannock). Nominations are sought at large from the region by mid January and the final five are chosen by committee in late February. The 5 honorees are announced in March. The celebration this year is a banquet at Fauquier Springs Country Club on September 18. Culpeper's Honoree is Sharon Clark (Pepperberries / Pamper Me Pink)!\n\n\n\nWe are in need of sponsors to help support this event. None of Aging Together's events are fundraisers. \n\nwww.agingtogether.org
