DESCRIPTION:Give your child a glimpse into life during the Civil War in a unique educational experience on Saturday\, August 10th from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.\n\nThis educational camp designed for children aged 7 to 13 years old will be held at Cedar Mountain Battlefield. Participants will enlist in a military unit alongside living historians to learn about camp life and military maneuvers. This day camp will feature soldiers' drills\, equipment handling\, and experiences of life during the Civil War\, and wrap up with a mock battle.\n\nLiving history interpreters will lead the participants through the following experiences:\n\n\n	Enlistment\;\n	Induction and interview with a regimental surgeon\;\n	Equipment Issuance   haversacks & replica muskets\;\n	Manual of Arms   Drill\;\n	Maneuvers   Drill\;\n	Combat\; and\n	Discharged.\n\n\nThe camp is being offered by members of the Valley Guards 10th Virginia Infantry Regiment\, an educational living history unit with members from across the Piedmont and Shenandoah Valley\, Virginia. The Valley was the home of the 10th Virginia and many of the members are descendants of the original regiment.\n\nRegistration cost is $40 per participant.
