DESCRIPTION:Join FOR River Steward October Greenfield for a guided paddle tour of Mountain Run Lake. This morning float begins and ends at the public boat ramp. This trip is flat water only. Minimum age is 12 years and some paddling experience is helpful.\n\nMountain Run Lake is a 75-acre water supply reservoir located just 15 minutes from downtown Culpeper. The channel catfish and brown bullhead populations are some of the best found in small impoundments in Northern Virginia. Wildlife is abundant and can be readily seen throughout the year. On this trip we will learn about water quality\, drinking water\, and the natural ecology and wildlife of the area.\n\nMeet at the public boat ramp at 9:45 a.m. to check-in. Mountain Run is located just above Pelham Reservoir. Take Route 29 south from Culpeper\, turn right on Route 718 to the lake. We'll launch from the boat ramp and expect to return by noon.\n\nYour ticket purchase includes kayak\, paddle\, and life jacket. Attendees bring snacks\, sunscreen\, water bottle\, insect repellent\, and wear a hat.\n\nCOVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES\n\n\n All equipment will be sanitized prior to the event. Equipment will be laid out 6 feet apart before check-in.\n Masks must be worn during check-in.If you would like assistance getting into your boat during launch\, masks must also be worn then.\n Maintain a distance of 6 feet at all other times during boat launch\, while on water\, and at the end of trip.\n Please print and bring this waiver with you or you may email it to October by 3 pm on September 18 so you don't have to sign it during check-in.
