Manager, Community Engagement

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Community Engagement (MCE) is responsible for executing a comprehensive socially responsible operational implementation plan as designed by the community engagement team to enhance and strengthen UVA Community Health's reputation for remarkable patience experience and its leadership in community outreach for the entire UVA Community Health footprint. The MCE provides leadership, operational oversight and support for UVA Community Health's community engagement operations team in implementing community facing partnerships and programs that support the organization's vision of improving the health of communities, one person at a time. The MCE is responsible for developing a market-specific community engagement plan that may include community partnerships and programs that support community building activities, facility Community Benefit Implementation Plans {CBIP), and aligned team member engagement opportunities. The MCE may have specific responsibility over community engagement's market level operations, services, programs and/or partnerships.

REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Master's degree preferred.

Experience:
•Minimum five years' successful supervisory/management experience preferred. Minimum three years' work experience  program development required.
•Minimum five years' successful healthcare planning or comparable experience preferred. 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Entrepreneurial spirit and innovative drive for reaching the next great idea and exceeding goals. Strong Business acumen with the ability assess risk, identify and address issues and prioritize. Ability to work both independently without close oversight, and as a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside UVA Community Health. Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical community initiatives. Must have proven ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships with individuals representing a broad range of constituencies. Demonstrated ability to implement annual strategic and action plans to include both charitable and in-kind donations of goods and services. Ability to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects at a time. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional written and oral communication skills. A self-starter who is results-oriented. Must be highly organized with a demonstrated ability to inspire staff to achieve departmental goals. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
