Part-Time Marketing Assistant
Location: Culpeper, Virginia
Windstar Technologies Inc. has an opening for a part-time marketing assistant.  We are an IT consulting and services company in the Culpeper, Virginia area.  We are currently seeking a part-time sharp and passionate marketing assistant to oversee the development and execution of our company’s marketing strategy.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently and with our Vice President.  You must have good computer, organizational and logistic skills. You should be comfortable calling the leads on the list and have a natural ‘magnetism’ and friendly demeanor with people.  And a positive, upbeat ‘can do’ attitude is absolutely essential for this position.
  • Implementing and executing mostly pre-designed marketing campaigns, including tasks such as:
    • Cleaning marketing lists (verifying still in business, correct address and correct person)
    • Customization of existing direct mail campaigns
    • Compilation and mailing of those direct mail pieces
    • Telephone follow-up to direct mail pieces (done in small batches, just “did you receive our mail piece” type calls from a pre-designed script). 
  • Helping with the customization of our monthly newsletter
  • Mailing the monthly newsletter
  • Email Marketing design and execution (from templates)
  • Business Canvassing (dropping off materials)
  • Maintain dashboards and critical analytics that help identify trends and opportunities
  • Designing marketing materials
  • Some general administrative work may be required
  • Anything else ‘marketing’ related
  • Understanding how to use social media for a company brand versus an individual
  • Microsoft suite of products including (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Ability to meticulously follow marketing plans and programs
  • Not afraid to change approaches quickly and act on constructive criticism
  • Experience with the Infusionsoft CRM is a major bonus
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Good verbal communications skills
  • Enjoys having conversations with (and helping) small business owners.
  • Loves building relationships with people and providing a true “Wow” experience.
Hours/Work Location
  • We are flexible with your working hours, and they must be during normal business hours (8am to 5pm)
  • The position has scheduling flexibility, so it is ideal for someone who has commitments to work around. However, this is NOT a work from home position and all work must be completed during normal business hours.
Starting Salary: $11/hr.
Starting Hours: 20hrs/wk.
A pre-employment drug screening will be required, as well as a criminal background check.  Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.  Some college education in a marketing field or prior marketing experience is preferred, but the right person with the right attitude could certainly secure the position.  Applicants should be well spoken and present a friendly, trustworthy, and professional image.
