Flu Safety Tips to Keep You Healthy

Your health and safety remain our highest priority. Flu season is beginning, and as the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues, we recommend that you follow 3 important safety tips:
1. Get your flu shot early
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends getting a flu shot in September or October. However, getting your flu shot anytime during the flu season can help protect you. The flu vaccine takes a few weeks to provide protection, so earlier is better.
2. Plan ahead to avoid the spread
Your doctor’s office might offer flu shots. If not, you can get it at several other locations, like your local pharmacy, drugstore, or walk-in clinic. Make an appointment to get your flu shot. If you have symptoms such as fever, a dry cough and/or shortness of breath, contact your provider for guidance before getting your flu shot.
3. Use virtual health options
If you need to see your doctor or have flu-like symptoms, consider downloading the myPrivia app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. You can use the app for your virtual care options and receive care from the comfort of your home.
