Culpepper, Va. (May 15, 2025) – Virginia Career Works – Piedmont, Culpeper Literacy Council, and Culpeper County Library are offering a series of free workshops in June at Culpeper County Library. The workshops (classes) are being offered at no cost thanks to a partnership with the national nonprofit, Connected Nation (CN).
The classes are intended for learners who are new to using a computer, the internet, and/or mobile phones and want to build confidence while staying safe online.
“There are so many people who can benefit from the workshops - from young adults to senior citizens simply because they cover a wide range of important technology topics,” said Andrew DeNicola, Virginia Career Works. "If you don’t have a basic understanding of how to navigate our increasingly digital world, then you are missing out on so many opportunities and resources that impact everything from health to educational outcomes. That’s why it’s so important for us to reach as many residents with this training as possible.”
Topics for the June workshops include using web browsers, creating stronger passwords, using search engines, navigating a mobile device and so much more. They’ll be taught by CN’s digital literacy expert and bilingual trainer and will be held at the Culpeper County Library (271 Southgate Shopping Center, Culpeper, VA 22701).
