Feeding 500 - Sweet Potato Party

Help us prepare 500 servings of Sweet Potato Soup for those in need

Sweet potatoes are nutritious, packing a good amount of vitamin c, vitamin a, and anticancer properties into each serving.

We will be transforming 175 lbs of sweet potatoes into 500 servings of soup for local food bank clients and we need some support with all the associated peeling, chopping, cooking, and cleaning tasks.

This is a project of the Carver Food Enterprise Center in collaboration with the Fauquier Education Farm who is growing the sweet potatoes.  Thanks to Amazon Web Services for providing funding for this event!

This event is open to anyone age 16 and up with basic knife skills.  

There is no cost to participate, but we ask that you secure a free ticket here so we can plan for equipment and teams for various tasks.  Donations are always welcome as we are raising funds to build phase 2 and 3 of the kitchen which will allow us to host more events like this in the future.  All donations are tax-deductible.
