History
Windmills Heights Garden Center has a rich history deeply rooted in our community. Founded by Mason Hutcheson (Paul's Grandfather) in 1965, our family business has been serving Culpeper gardeners for generations.
Mason's story began in Inlet, just north of Culpeper, with a single greenhouse. In 1966, he relocated to our current location, expanding the business over the years. His background as an Agricultural Extension Agent, where he taught 4-H and gardening classes, laid the foundation for our commitment to education and quality.
In 1990, after retiring from his extension work, Mason dedicated himself fully to the garden center, building a loyal customer base. In 2012, his grandson, Paul Hutcheson, took the reins, continuing the family tradition. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from Paul and get your native plant garden started!
