
Inside Sales - Sales Counter
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at Cherry Street Building Supply, a leading provider of high-quality building materials and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, knowledge of the construction industry, and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Customer Service:
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, developers, and other industry professionals.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate building materials and products.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, preparing quotes, and processing orders.
- Business Development:
- Retain existing business and attract new business through networking, customer follow ups, and site visits.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of industry trends and supplier offerings to identify strengths and opportunities for our business.
- Product Knowledge & Inventory:
- Stay up to date with the latest building materials, tools, and industry trends.
- Assist customers in selecting the right products for their projects.
- Coordinate with the receiving and delivery teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Administrative & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions in our sales system.
- Follow up with vendors on unfulfilled orders and quality issues.
- Handle invoicing, payments, and any necessary follow-ups with customers.
- Material Handling:
- Assist with loading products for customers.
- Mixing paints and stains as needed.
- Give demonstrations of products to give customers a better understanding of our inventory.
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the building supply or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of building materials, construction processes, and contractor needs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Provide a high level of customer service with integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to effectively multitask and maintain a high level of organization.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet sales goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer resource management (CRM) software.
Job Requirements:
- This is a full time, hourly role
- The schedule for this position is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. every other Saturday.
- Must be able to work every other Saturday.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Have a valid driver’s license with availability for occasional (less than 10%) travel.
