Since 1988, Culpeper Renaissance, Inc. (CRI), Culpeper’s nonprofit Virginia Main Street program, has continued to shape Culpeper’s Downtown through focusing on four points, design, organization, promotion and economic vitality.

It is through the point of promotion that CRI is able to serve the community, both residents and visitors, as well as local and small businesses, with activities, events and entertainment. These events, nearly 40 in 2023, create an opportunity for partnerships and sponsorships, while bringing awareness to our Downtown. It is through sponsorships that CRI can achieve the most success, bringing over 48,000 people to Culpeper Downtown in 2023 to see, enjoy and partake in all the fun! Some of CRI’s most popular annual events include the Culpeper Downtown Carnival, a winter celebration of all things Mardi Gras, the legendary Gnarly Culpeper Block Party & Brew Fest, the iconic 3rd Thursday Summer Concert Series, along with the always popular Culpeper Downtown Farmers Market, Hop N Hog Culpeper Block Party & BBQ Competition, fall events, and holiday programs, such as the Community Tree Lighting! These events open the door for promotional opportunities for event sponsors, as well as Culpeper Downtown as a whole.
