Cub Scout Pack 196 Hosts Annual Blue and Gold Banquet; Four Scouts Earn Arrow of Light and Bridge into Boy Scouts

Culpeper, VA – On Saturday, February 22nd, Cub Scout Pack 196 gathered for their highly anticipated Blue and Gold Banquet at Culpeper Baptist Church, celebrating a year of achievement and community spirit. The event marked a significant milestone for the pack, as four outstanding Cub Scouts earned their prestigious Arrow of Light award and bridged into Boy Scouts, beginning their new chapter with Troop 196.
The Blue and Gold Banquet is a longstanding tradition in the Scouting community, commemorating the birthday of the Boy Scouts of America. This year’s event was a joyous occasion filled with celebration, recognition, and camaraderie. The banquet included dinner, awards presentations, and special ceremonies honoring the dedication and hard work of the Cub Scouts.
Among the highlights of the evening, four Cub Scouts – received the Arrow of Light, the highest honor a Cub Scout can earn. This prestigious award symbolizes their commitment to the Scouting values and marks their readiness to advance into the Boy Scouts program. Following the Arrow of Light ceremony, these Scouts bridged into Boy Scout Troop 196, where they will continue to grow as leaders, adventurers, and community-minded individuals.
The Blue and Gold Banquet was also a time for family, friends, and community members to come together to support the Scouts and celebrate their accomplishments. As Pack 196 looks ahead to another year of growth and adventure, the dedication of its Scouts and leaders continues to be a shining example of the positive impact of Scouting in the Culpeper community.
