Culpeper Garden Club Flower Show
The Culpeper Garden Club is hosting a National Garden Club Standard Flower Show on Wednesday, May 7, 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. The theme of the flower show, 'Designs of the Decades’, is a celebration of the Culpeper Garden Club’s 90th anniversary and the evolution of floral design through the years. The show will be opened with a ribbon cutting led by the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to the horticulture and design exhibits, there will be presentations by experts in their field. Robert Myers, Horticulturist James Madison’s Montpelier, will talk on the history and current status of the Annie duPont Formal Garden. Stephanie DeNicola, Education Coordinator, Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District, will present information on water conservation, the importance of soil testing and utilization of native plants. Ashley Appling, Extension Agent, Horticulture ISA Certified Arborist, will share information on how to successfully grow camellias in Central Piedmont.
Gardening enthusiasts will also enjoy perusing the new nursery stock being offered for purchase by Windmill Heights Nursery and Willow Shade Nursery, both located in Culpeper, Virginia.
The flower show is a wonderful opportunity for attendees to mix and mingle with Culpeper Garden Club members. The club hopes area residents will join them for ‘Designs of the Decades’ at the Culpeper County Fieldhouse, 16388 Competition Drive, Culpeper, Wednesday, May 7, 1:00-3:00 PM. The show is free and open to the public.
