Culpeper County Library hosts Third Annual Cosplay Runway & Contest

(CULPEPER) – Join Captains Culpeper as they are transported to a world of adventure, mystique, and fun at the Third Annual “CulpeperCon 3rd Edition: Through the Pages, A Gathering of Legends” at Culpeper County Library (271 Southgate Shopping Center).

Based on the Japanese genre Isekai meaning ‘other world’, this year’s CulpeperCon theme will transport visitors to a world where we promote literacy, inclusiveness, and community. Hosted by the Friends of the Culpeper Library [FOL], CulpeperCon is a FREE event held on Friday, March 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Show off your creativity or your alternate persona by joining us for our signature Cosplay Runway & Contest, brought to us by Uncanny Sponsor UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center! The Cosplay Runway & Contest will take place on Friday, March 21 from 5-9pm. Light refreshments and costume preparations will take place from 5-6:15pm, and the contest will run until all contestants and participants walk the runway and prizes distributed. The cutoff for registration is 5:45pm on Friday, March 21 both as in-person and online. Those who wish to watch the Cosplay Runway & Contest must register as spectators as space is limited.

Prizes this year will include Cosplay Photography Packages provided by Bryant Cox Photography, and gift certificates provided by Astonishing Sponsor Wandering Dork Photography.

There are still opportunities for local businesses and nonprofits to be involved by being sponsors for CulpeperCon. Uncanny ($500), Astonishing ($250), and Amazing ($100) suggested sponsorships are available to which will be available on digital only.

Businesses may also participate in “Extraordinary Superhuman Activities” which include an Activity Card and a Back-of-Card Promo.
