News Release: Culpeper Literacy - New Board President

We’re excited to welcome David Lee as the new Board President of Culpeper Literacy Council. With years of experience as an ESL tutor and a strong background in public education, David is eager to help advance our mission and support our learners.

David started as an ESL-1 tutor three years ago and was inspired by the dedication of our learners to take on a leadership role. “I wanted to do more to support our learners and further the mission of Culpeper Literacy,” he shared.

s Board President, David has three key goals: improving our financial standing, providing more resources for tutors, and expanding outreach in the community. His vision is to ensure our programs thrive and continue making an impact.

David values the diversity of our community and recognizes the vital role English instruction plays in helping newcomers succeed. “Our learners enrich our community, and the language skills we provide help them achieve their dreams,” he said.

With 36 years in Virginia’s public education system, David brings valuable experience to his new role. He’s excited to work alongside our dedicated team, including our tutors and Director of Programs, Khalil Benhajjam.
