Rothamel honored in Virginia’s Forty Under 40

Culpeper, VA – Virginia Business has named Bryan Rothamel, Director of Culpeper County Economic Development, as a recipient of its 2025 Forty Under 40 award. This prestigious recognition celebrates exceptional young professionals under 40 who have demonstrated outstanding career success, community impact, and leadership in their fields.

Selected by the editorial team of Virginia Business, this year’s honorees represent the next generation of leaders across the commonwealth. Rothamel’s selection reflects his remarkable contributions to economic development in Culpeper County, where he has spearheaded initiatives to support local businesses, attract new industries, and strengthen workforce development.

“It is not only a tremendous honor to be named to the list but also to be included with a group of some fantastic leaders across the Commonwealth,” Rothamel said. “I am thankful to be part of the Culpeper community and continue to contribute to its success.”

Under Rothamel’s leadership, Culpeper County has launched innovative programs designed to enhance business retention and expansion. His strategic vision has fostered collaboration between local government, businesses, and educational institutions, ensuring sustainable economic growth. His commitment to workforce development is evident in his work to connect students with job opportunities, providing them with the skills and resources needed to succeed in today’s economy.

Beyond his professional achievements, Rothamel has actively contributed to the economic development community, mentoring an economic developer through the Virginia Economic Development Association (VEDA) mentorship program. He served on the VEDA board from 2021 to 2024, received their Rising Star Award in December 2022, and now serves as the Vice Chair of Programs for VEDA. Additionally, he is the Vice Chair of the Board for Foundation First, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding early childhood education in regional communities. Rothamel also serves on the Virginia Career Works – Piedmont Region Workforce Development Board, furthering his commitment to strengthening workforce opportunities across the region.

Rothamel and his fellow honorees will be celebrated at an awards event on May 12 at The Westin Richmond. The winners will also be profiled in the May issue of Virginia Business and featured online at VirginiaBusiness.com.
