SAFE (Services to Abused Families) is seeking an Access & Inclusion Coordinator to help ensure survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault can meaningfully access services regardless of disability, age, communication or language needs, culture, identity, transportation, technology, geography, economic circumstances, or other barriers.
This position combines direct survivor advocacy, community outreach, and accessibility-focused work. The Coordinator will maintain a community-based advocacy caseload while serving as a resource to SAFE staff and community partners in identifying barriers and developing practical solutions that make services more accessible and responsive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy, safety planning, referrals, systems navigation, accompaniment, and follow-up.
- Identify barriers affecting survivors’ ability to access or participate in services and help develop practical accommodations and solutions.
- Build relationships with community organizations and specialized service providers.
- Conduct targeted outreach and community education with populations and organizations that may experience barriers to services.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and other community partners to strengthen referral pathways and survivor-centered responses.
- Help review and adapt materials, practices, and procedures to improve accessibility and usability.
- Participate in SAFE’s cross-trained service model, including hotline coverage, intakes, court and systems accompaniment, and other advocacy functions.
The ideal candidate is curious, resourceful, compassionate, and comfortable working with people with a wide range of needs and life experiences. This position does not require expertise in every population or accessibility need. We are looking for someone who can recognize barriers, ask good questions, research unfamiliar issues, connect with appropriate resources, and develop practical solutions.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred, although relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Two years of relevant experience in advocacy, human services, accessibility, disability or aging services, community outreach, victim services, or a related field is preferred. Spanish or other second-language proficiency is preferred but not required.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with some evening and weekend work required. Position is contingent upon funding.
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
