VIRGINIA HISPANIC CHAMBER HONORED AS CHAMBER OF THE YEAR

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE VIRGINIA HISPANIC CHAMBER HONORED AS CHAMBER OF THE YEAR

This prestigious recognition highlights 25 years of statewide leadership, innovation, and impact on Hispanic business growth throughout the state.

Richmond, VA - September 24, 2025 - The Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VAHCC) has been named Chamber of the Year by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) during its national convention in Atlanta, Georgia.

This award, one of the highest honors in the Hispanic business community, places the Virginia Hispanic Chamber at the forefront of a network that represents more than 5 million Hispanicowned businesses and over 250 chambers nationwide. The recognition underscores the VAHCC’s track record of leadership, innovation, and measurable contributions to economic and community growth.

Founded more than 25 years ago by President and CEO Michel Zajur at his family’s iconic restaurant La Siesta in Richmond, the Chamber has grown from a grassroots vision into a statewide powerhouse connecting businesses, communities, and policymakers. Today, the VAHCC serves as a catalyst for Hispanic entrepreneurs, professionals, and families across the Commonwealth building bridges that drive opportunity and prosperity.

“This recognition is a tribute to our extraordinary team, our members, sponsors, and partners who have championed our mission from the very beginning,” said Zajur. “Together, we have created not just an organization, but a movement, one that will empower Hispanic businesses and strengthen Virginia’s communities for generations to come.”

This national honor follows statewide recognition earlier this year, when Virginia Business magazine named Michel Zajur and the VAHCC as inaugural recipients of its Virginia C-Suite Awards, spotlighting visionary leaders shaping the Commonwealth’s future.

As it celebrates its 25th anniversary, the Virginia Hispanic Chamber stands poised to expand its impact even further creating inclusive growth, strengthening cross-cultural understanding, and elevating Hispanic voices in business across Virginia and beyond.
