Montpelier - James Madison's Birthday FREE Admittance
Tour the newly restored home of the Father of the Constitution and the gracious woman who inspired the title "First Lady" FREE on Constitution Day, September 17th. Learn how curators are solving mysteries to restor ethe Madisons' furnishings and decor. Watch archaelogists dig for buried Madison "treasure," or catalog the latest archaelogical finds. Try your hand at 18th-century building techniquest and crafts in the Hands-On tent, or knead homemade biscuits in the coutdoor "kitchen." Take a special tour fo the enslaved community sites. Stroll the gadens, hike the old-growth forest, and enjoy all 2,650 acres through the changing seasons.
