Regulatory Services Project Coordinator

Overview

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) provides support and services to the social work regulatory community to advance safe, competent, and ethical practices to strengthen public protection.

The Regulatory Services Project Coordinator reports to the Director of Regulatory Services and helps to advance the work of the Member Engagement and Regulatory Services department. Core functions support regulatory services and governmental affairs programming and involve the management of regulatory data systems and information, development of associated resource materials, and outreach to ASWB member jurisdictions and social work community stakeholders. Data systems include the ASWB Laws and Regulations database, legislative and regulatory tracking, software to support member engagement programming, and systems to facilitate grassroots advocacy. Performs legal research to ensure the accuracy of regulatory data and support member and stakeholder requests for information. Assists with special inquiries, projects, report writing, or research as required. Performs additional responsibilities, as needed.

This is NOT a fully remote position.

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree; Master of Social Work, public policy, or law preferred
  • Current license in good standing if individual has a social work degree or is a member of any other regulated profession
  • Understanding of professional licensing and regulation
  • Experience in regulatory affairs and advocacy
  • Ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement and grassroots advocacy.
  • Experience in coordinating meetings and collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Ability to conduct legal research, analyze legislative/regulatory proposals, and prepare associated written communications
  • Ability to synthesize information and generate reports, summaries, and resource materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presentations, and outreach materials
  • Proficiency in managing databases and data systems. Careful attention to detail in data integrity reviews and information verification
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to provide administrative support and prepare educational materials
  • Experience supporting special projects and strategic initiatives
  • Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, as well as experience with standard office equipment including proficiency with database information management systems

ASWB uses a flexible, hybrid work model, allowing for approved remote work as warranted. While typical business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. are the norm, ASWB promotes a results-based approach to measures of productivity. Must have the ability to work remotely with access to high-speed internet as needed. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties and business demands.
