Start as a Kennel Assistant, Transition to Dog Trainer – Paid Apprenticeship & Long-Term Growth

 

This is an entry-level position where you'll begin as a Kennel Assistant and, over time, develop into a skilled Dog Trainer. You’ll receive paid training as you work alongside experienced trainers, gaining valuable hands-on experience with Dogs in Training and client dogs. We’re committed to helping you grow in this field, and once you’ve developed your skills, you’ll have the opportunity to train dogs independently with minimal supervision.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

A reliable, motivated individual eager to learn our proven training methods

Available to work 4–6 hours per day, 5–6 days per week (flexible scheduling available)

Experience in dog training is preferred, but we will train the right person with a strong work ethic and great attitude

Must be responsive, organized, and professional in client communications

Self-driven and able to work independently without constant supervision

Must have reliable transportation and the ability to transport dogs safely

A desire to stay with us long-term and grow into a professional dog trainer

Key Responsibilities:

 

Assist with the care and management of Dogs in Training (Board & Train) and other dogs that board with us

Design and implement customized training programs for dogs of all breeds and temperaments

Conduct one-on-one training sessions with owners to teach proper handling techniques

Continuously assess each dog’s progress and adjust training strategies as needed

Provide guidance on general pet care, including kennel management, pet sitting, and overall wellness

Assist with kennel duties (letting dogs out, feeding, ensuring clean living conditions, etc.)

Maintain accurate training records and provide timely updates to pet owners

Collaborate with fellow trainers and team members to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Send regular video updates to clients about their dog’s progress

Offer customer support by answering client questions and addressing concerns about training or behavior
