SAFE (Services to Abused Families) is seeking a compassionate, engaging, and motivated Youth & Child Program Coordinator to provide advocacy, education, and support to children, teens, and young adults impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, and related trauma.

This full-time position combines direct client advocacy with school-based prevention education, youth programming, community outreach, and partnership building throughout SAFE's five-county service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed advocacy and support to children, teens, young adults, and children of adult clients.
  • Coordinate and deliver educational programming in schools, community colleges, and other youth-serving settings.
  • Facilitate age-appropriate groups, activities, and educational opportunities for youth and families.
  • Build relationships with schools, counselors, youth-serving organizations, and community partners.
  • Participate in community outreach, resource fairs, awareness campaigns, and other SAFE events.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation and program records.
  • Collaborate with SAFE staff and community partners to coordinate services for children and families.
  • Assist with program data, outcome tracking, and grant-related requirements.
  • Provide cross-functional support to other SAFE programs and organizational initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in occasional evening, weekend, and back-up/on-call responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social work, education, counseling, criminal justice, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, or families preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, crisis intervention, domestic violence, and sexual violence preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout SAFE's service area.

Schedule

Primarily Monday through Friday during business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
