CTEC HOSA and NTHS Launch LEGO Drive in Memory of EVHS Graduate and Sheriff’s Cadet Kendrick Jenkins

Culpeper, VA – September 2025 – Students at the Culpeper Technical Education Center (CTEC) are once again rallying the community for a cause close to their hearts. Members of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) have partnered to launch this year’s LEGO Drive in memory of Kendrick Jenkins, a 2020 Eastern View High School graduate and Sheriff’s Office Cadet who passed away from childhood cancer in 2021.

Kendrick had a lifelong love for LEGO, and his family created Team Kendrick to carry forward his legacy by organizing annual LEGO drives to benefit children battling childhood cancer. The donated LEGO sets are delivered each December to pediatric cancer centers, offering children comfort, creativity, and joy during their hospital stays.

Last year, the CTEC HOSA LEGO Drive collected an impressive 226 LEGO sets, thanks to donations from students, staff, and community partners. This year, with the help of NTHS, the students hope to surpass that total and bring even more smiles to children facing difficult battles.

Throughout September, collection boxes will be available at CTEC, and community members are invited to contribute new LEGO sets of all sizes. The students will deliver the donated sets to Team Kendrick in late September, helping to kick off the organization’s larger fall drive.
