Culpeper Chamber of Commerce Honors Roy Boldridge as 2025 Agribusiness of the Year
CULPEPER, VA
On March 18th, National Agriculture Day, the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce proudly recognized Roy Boldridge of Homeland Farm in Rixeyville as the 2025 Agribusiness of the Year. This prestigious award honors local agribusinesses that demonstrate a strong presence in Culpeper County, embrace innovation, and actively contribute to both agricultural and community organizations.
Roy Boldridge, a one-man operation at Homeland Farm, has built a successful livelihood through beef cattle and hay production, showcasing resilience, hard work, and adaptability. As Secretary of Culpeper Agriculture Enterprises and President of the Culpeper Madison Feeder Cattle Association, Roy has been a steadfast advocate for the local farming community.
His influence extends beyond Culpeper, with his innovative practices featured in national farming publications such as Progressive Forage and Progressive Farmer. Recognized for his expertise in grazing management and livestock sustainability, Roy was an early adopter of the Graze 300 VA program, implementing its rotational grazing principles nearly 15 years before the program officially launched. His forward-thinking approach has enabled him to graze cattle nearly year-round, significantly reducing hay costs while maintaining herd health.
In a meaningful step toward securing the farm’s future, Roy’s son, Carter, joined the operation recently. With Carter now working alongside him, the father-son team is bringing fresh energy and a shared commitment to sustainable farming, ensuring the legacy of Homeland Farm continues for generations to come.
“Roy Boldridge is a great example of the resilience, innovation, and dedication that define Culpeper’s agricultural community,” said Culpeper Chamber of Commerce President/CEO, Amy Frazier. “His forward-thinking approach to farming, commitment to sustainability, and willingness to share his expertise have not only strengthened his own operation but have also inspired and elevated the broader farming community. We are proud to honor him with this year’s Agribusiness of the Year Award.”
The Agribusiness of the Year Award aims to strengthen the connection between Culpeper’s agricultural and broader community, fostering appreciation for the hard work and innovation of local farmers. By recognizing leaders like Roy Boldridge, the Chamber celebrates the vital role agriculture plays in the county’s economy, heritage, and future.
