Lifepoint Church Celebrates Grand Opening of New Culpeper Campus

CULPEPER, Va. – The Culpeper Chamber of Commerce joined Lifepoint Church, community leaders, and congregation members on Friday to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Lifepoint Church's new Culpeper Campus at 15064 Success Drive.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the church's journey, which began in 2015 with approximately 50 people gathering in a living room and has since grown into a thriving congregation serving the Culpeper community.

Culpeper Campus Pastor Aaron Judkins reflected on the church's groundbreaking ceremony held in May 2023, smiling as he recalled a word he coined to describe the significance of the occasion.

"I said, 'This is a monumentous day,'" Judkins told attendees. "A monumental thing is a thing that is large and massive in size. A momentous thing is something that is large in significance. And that is what we are celebrating today—a large, significant moment with a large, significant building."

Judkins praised the sacrifices and dedication of church members, volunteers, and leaders who helped transform the vision into reality.

"We've said this for years, but great churches are not built on the talent of a few, but on the sacrifices of many," he said.

Culpeper Mayor Frank Reaves congratulated Lifepoint Church on reaching the milestone and highlighted the impact the new facility will have on the community.

"This facility is not just a building," Reaves said. "It's a place where families will gather, friendships will be formed, children and students will grow, neighbors will find support, and countless opportunities to serve our community will begin."

Senior Pastor Shawn McGill emphasized that the new campus is intended to serve not only church members, but the broader Culpeper community.

"This building is not just ours, it's the Town of Culpeper's," McGill said. "And this building belongs to you as much as it does us."

McGill recognized the foundation laid by former Senior Pastors Daniel and Tammy Floyd, the contractors and construction teams who brought the project to life, and the congregation members whose financial support and volunteer efforts made the new campus possible.

Reflecting on the church's mission, McGill shared Lifepoint's commitment to serving the community for generations to come.

"We've always wanted to be a church that was not just for us, but truly for our community," he said. "We are here for the long haul."

The new facility provides Lifepoint Church with its first permanent home in Culpeper after years of meeting in temporary locations, including Culpeper County High School. Church leaders noted that the building is designed to support worship services, community outreach efforts, children's programming, and ministry opportunities throughout the region.

Following remarks, Amy Frazier, President & CEO of the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, congratulated the Lifepoint congregation and recognized the significance of the occasion.

"This space represents faith, service, connection, and a commitment to making a positive impact in our community," Frazier said. "This ribbon cutting marks the beginning of a new chapter, not just for Lifepoint Church, but for our entire community. We look forward to seeing the lives that will be touched, the relationships that will be built, and the amazing things that will happen here in the years ahead."

Following the ribbon cutting, attendees enjoyed refreshments and fellowship while celebrating the completion of a project that represents years of vision, faith, sacrifice, and service to the Culpeper community.

As church leaders looked toward the future, their focus remained on the people who would be impacted by the ministry taking place within the new facility.

"We pray that thousands of broken people would find hope here," McGill said.
