Culpeper Remembers to Mark 25th Anniversary of 9/11 with Community Ceremony

Culpeper, VA – September 11, 2026 – The Culpeper community is invited to come together for Culpeper Remembers, a special event marking the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. This family-friendly gathering will take place on Friday, September 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Park, located at 605 E Spencer Street.

Twenty-five years later, the community will pause to remember, honor, and stand together in reflection of the lives lost and the lasting impact of that day.

The event will begin with a short remembrance ceremony at 9:00 a.m., recognizing the timeline of the morning of September 11, 2001. Following the ceremony, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with and express gratitude to local first responders and service members who serve and protect Culpeper every day.

“Culpeper Remembers is an opportunity for our community to come together in unity, reflect on our shared history, and recognize the dedication of those who continue to keep us safe,” said Kim Atkins, event co-coordinator.

Families are encouraged to attend and bring children to help pass along the importance of remembrance, service, and community connection to the next generation.

The event is free and open to the public.
