The Hunchback of Notre Dame Dinner Theater Fundraiser Supporting Habitat for Humanity of Culpeper County and Windmore Center for the Arts

Windmore’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame Brings Community Theater and Local Homeownership Mission Together

CULPEPER, VA — Windmore Center for the Arts and Habitat for Humanity of Culpeper County are partnering this fall for a special theatrical fundraising event that brings together the power of the arts and the dream of homeownership for a local family. Windmore will present The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a spectacular community theater production featuring talented adult and teen performers from across the region, with proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Culpeper County.

Presented at the Historic State Theater of Culpeper, this six-performance dinner theater event will feature an exceptional cast and crew, breathtaking music, a stunning floor-to-ceiling set, a live orchestra, and a live choir. The production marks a first for Windmore Center for the Arts, bringing together both a live orchestra and live choir to create an especially powerful and immersive theatrical experience.

Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and featuring the Academy Award-nominated score from the Disney animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame combines unforgettable music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz with a new book by Peter Parnell that incorporates passages directly from Hugo’s gothic novel.

Set in fifteenth-century Paris, the musical follows Quasimodo, the isolated bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, as he ventures beyond the cathedral walls during the Feast of Fools. His encounter with the compassionate Esmeralda sets in motion a sweeping story of love, acceptance, courage, sacrifice, and the struggle against cruelty and injustice. With its soaring musical numbers, dramatic storytelling, and powerful themes, the production offers an unforgettable experience for theatergoers.

An Extraordinary Dinner Theater Experience

Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of live theater, music, and fellowship paired with an Italian dinner provided by Luigi’s. Dinner selections include lasagna, tortellini with pink sauce, chicken alfredo, and vegetable or shrimp pasta, accompanied by salad, bread, dessert, and nonalcoholic beverages. A cash bar will also be available.

Audiences can choose from three unique seating experiences:

  • Front Row Interactive Experience Tables — $100 per person: An up-close experience designed to bring guests closer to the action.

  • Sweetheart Tables — $150 per table: An intimate dinner theater option for two.

  • General Dinner Theater Seating — $70 per person: An evening of dinner and live theatrical entertainment.

Whether attending for the music, the story, the dinner, or the opportunity to support a local cause, guests will be part of an event that combines community arts with a meaningful mission.

Supporting the Dream of Homeownership

Every ticket purchased helps support Habitat for Humanity of Culpeper County and its mission of partnering with families to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership opportunities.

Habitat recently selected the family who will partner with the organization on the home currently being built, making this fundraiser especially meaningful. The event offers the community an opportunity to support that mission while enjoying a major theatrical production close to home.

For Amanda Reck, Co-President of Windmore Center for the Arts and Treasurer of Habitat for Humanity of Culpeper County, the partnership represents a meaningful connection between two organizations working to strengthen the local community.

“This partnership is especially meaningful to me because I have the privilege of serving both Windmore and Habitat for Humanity of Culpeper County. The arts have a unique ability to bring people together, and through The Hunchback of Notre Dame, we have the opportunity to support a mission that changes lives.

“Habitat recently selected the family who will partner with us on the home that is currently being built, making this fundraiser even more meaningful and allowing our community to see the direct impact of their support.

“At the same time, audiences are in for an incredible theatrical experience. The cast, crew, musicians, and volunteers have poured their hearts into this production, and the talent, music, and scale of the show are truly remarkable. Every ticket purchased helps support both the arts and the dream of homeownership for a local family right here in our community. That’s a powerful impact for everyone involved.”
